Foundation's architecture: psychohistory forecasts mass behavior statistically; the Seldon Plan STEERS history; a HIDDEN Second Foundation (telepath cabal) curates the plan from secrecy; the Mule (mutant) is the unmodeled black-swan that breaks the equations; reflexivity requires secrecy (a public forecast becomes self-fulfilling). The self-referential reading: the engine may itself be a Second-Foundation-style instrument — a forecast that steers, with an apex that prefers the dark.
