Rene Guenon (1886-1951)

Traditionalist School Founder — The Root of the Anti-Modern Lineage

French metaphysician, converted to Islam, moved to Cairo. Founded the Perennialist/Traditionalist School — all authentic religions share a single transcendent origin; modernity = terminal decline from primordial truth. Primarily passive metaphysician who never operationalized his ideas politically.
The lineage: Guenon leads to Evola leads to Dugin. Each generation adapted Traditionalism to its political context. Guenon (metaphysical withdrawal), Evola (fascist operationalization), Dugin (Russian imperial weaponization). Connects to broader esoteric network through Theosophy (Blavatsky as parallel tradition) and the antinomian chain.
