The documented US origin of the eugenics substrate (extends scorecard #39 backward)
The nerve-center. The Eugenics Record Office (Cold Spring Harbor, 1910) under Charles Davenport and Harry Laughlin turned biological determinism into enforceable policy. Laughlin's 1914 Model Eugenical Sterilization Law was the legislative blueprint — and the direct template for the 1933 German sterilization law (Laughlin noted it read 'almost like the American model'; Heidelberg gave him an honorary MD in 1936 for 'racial cleansing').
Buck v. Bell (1927). The ERO engineered the test case — Estabrook testifying that Carrie Buck's infant 'showed backwardness' (the child later made the school honor roll). Holmes: 'three generations of imbeciles are enough.' Result: 65,000+ Americans forcibly sterilized across 30 states. [PRIMARY: 274 U.S. 200]
The bridge. Rockefeller Foundation capital funded the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute (Eugen Fischer, 1927), whose institute-lineage runs Fischer → Verschuer → Mengele's DFG-funded Auschwitz pipeline.
